The Chaplain
Written by: Ahava

Dear Chaplains,

God has placed within your heart, His desire to care for His people. Every Chaplain is an individual with his or her own personal experience with God. Each one answered the call of God upon your heart and humbled yourself and said,
“Yes Lord – Here am I – Send me”.

You began your spiritual journey for your own life and with each new day and each new step you became closer and closer to the purpose that you would walk in when you were ready. That was the day you became the Chaplain of the Lord.

As a Chaplain, you must be strong and courageous. You must be brave to stand for the pure truth of God’s word, His work and His Holy Spirit. You have an enemy staring you in the face wherever you go. That enemy is the spirit of religion and tradition.  But you must be strong for your God and never come under intimidation or manipulation.

Wherever your new assignment takes you, remember the angel of the Lord goes before you, God’s eye is upon you and the Holy Spirit dwells within you. So do not fear the people waiting to observe the new chaplain coming in. Take no thought of those who want to put you under their control.

You are the one God ordained, you are the one God sent into this new assignment and you are the one God trusts to accomplish your new mission for the time He has allotted you to be in this place. So do it God’s way which flows out from your heart.

Those who hold their religious tradition above the truth of God’s word will resist you.
Those who have no experience in ministry always want to instruct you and tell you how you are to serve. Those with no revelation want to control and dominate the chapel.

What do you do? Do not give into discouragement. Do not give up. Turn your face toward God – hear what His words are – do what God called you to do.

Galatians 1:10
Am I now trying to win the approval of men or of God? Or am I trying to please men?
If I were still trying to please men, I would “not” be a servant of Christ.

John 15:20
Remember the words I spoke to you, “No servant is greater than his master.”
If they persecuted me (Jesus), they will persecute you also.

To the man called of God to take up chapel residence in a time of war.
You arrive as the servant of God. You have an assignment from the Lord.
You must take your place according to the instructions of the Holy Spirit within.
Follow your spirit and do the work, as God reveals it to you.

Do not disobey the leading within you in order to come under the control of anyone.
Do not disobey the leading within you in an attempt to please others.
If you do, you will fail in your spiritual mission.

As a chaplain, you are sent from God.
He is the commander of your spiritual mission. You stand or fall to Him only.

Even if you do everything exactly the way the people want it, they will still find fault with something. Therefore, do not try to win the approval of the people, lest you find yourself with the disapproval of God.

Remember, you are not greater than Jesus.
They persecuted Jesus – they will persecute you (no matter what you do or don’t do)

You are the Commander in the army of the Lord.
You enforce your orders from the General. (Jesus is the head of all)
The General does not ask you – he orders you.
You are commanded to fulfill the mission, that’s why they are called the
TEN COMMANDMENTS and not the 10 requests.
