Me Within Thee
Written by: Ahava

I was just conceived within your womb,
I’ll begin developing very soon.
Some weeks have gone by, I have mouth, ears and eyes
along with arms, legs and my thighs.
A few more months, I am now complete.
I’m a full human being from head to feet.

I’m inside of you receiving your care.
Guess what? The sound of your voice I can hear.
I try to respond by giving a kick,
that’s my little foot causing pain near your hip.
Your hand on your belly moving up and down,
I can feel from within your touch on my crown.

The sound of your voice, the feel of your touch,
even from within, I know you love me so much.
Let me stretch one more time, give a kick or two;
just my way of saying, “Mommy I love you”.

It feels so safe, so warm within.
I’m not aware a time of labor will begin.
All of a sudden there’s water breaking forth.
Something is happening! Oh My! What is that?

I’m being pushed downward; something is pulling me, forcing me out.
All of a sudden I give a great shout.
What was that? It came out from me!
It’s the sound of my cry at my own delivery.

Help me! Help me! – They’ve taken me away,
from within the womb since my very first day.
Help me! Help me! – the hands of another,
have taken me out and away from my mother.

Mother, mother, so warm and sweet;
who created me from head to feet.
Where are you mother? What have they done?
They’re washing me, dressing me, combing my hair,
only to lay me in your arms once again to be near.

What is that? This sound is new.
It’s the sound of your heart as you hold me to you.
So safe and so warm just like the other,
only this place is better because I can now feel my mother.

I now feel so calm with nothing to fear
because I know my mother will always be near.

Conception begins within the womb,
but it has so many other rooms.

A lifetime of journeys that begins and starts
with the mothers love attached to your heart.
A lifetime of journeys from beginning to end
will prove your mother is your very best friend.

From the time of your birth to the time of your death,
your mother’s commitment will never end.
Nothing can tear or break it apart,
what began in the womb lives on in her heart.

As you grow up and go on your way
there’s only one thing I have left to say.
Many people will come and many people will go,
but the love of your mother, no other can show.

Love can be found in people, places and things,
but the love from the womb only a mother can bring.

So even though our life brings the love of another,
Remember you will always have just one mother.
