A New Year – A New Beginning 2009
Written by Ahava © January 2009

Today is the second day of the New Year. I have trained my mind that all negative things occurring in 2008 cannot remain a stronghold upon my heart and mind. In the natural the Times Square ball descended during the countdown into the New Year. In the spirit the strongholds had to be pushed under our feet during the countdown into the new beginnings of 2009.

Did you drop your burdens one by one as you counted one by one the numbers that pushed out the old year and brought in the New Year? Did you push out your old burdens and put on the new man for the new life arriving in this New Year determined to walk in new beginnings? I will not dwell on the past negatives.

This means when the countdown from 08 into 09 took place, I released all of the old.
It means I must not pick them up again, mentally or physically. I must not dwell on the old year now past. That's hard to do because the first thing in the morning, the second our eyes open, our minds are running. Even while we are asleep, our minds are awake when we have things stored within them.

What does it mean to mentally dwell? It means to focus our attention repeatedly on the same situation that is out of our control. To exist in a given condition or state of mind. To strain mentally in the attempt to reason out what went wrong or how we can correct something.

What does it mean to exist negatively? It means living in the past tense of mistakes, hurts, misunderstanding and unforgiveness. It is January 2009. If you continued today as your were in 2008, it is not a new year for you. Dec 31st was just a celebration for you that will bring no change. You have not entered the New Year. You have stayed behind in the old. You are still in the past.

If you believe you entered the New Year and have spoken out of your mouth the greetings  “Happy or Blessed New Year” are you new or did you wake up today with the same mental strongholds?

If you want 2009 to be a new year, you must enter this year mentally weight free. Did you leave your burden behind as you counted 2008 out and acknowledged  2009’s arrival believing it is over and all things are new, not just the year but new direction in your life? Begin now to take those new steps in the right direction.

The second I awoke this morning, my mind was in the same old place it's been all last year. I forced myself to get up and get moving.  I have to choose to create today in a new way, in order to achieve my future to be in a better place when I ring out 2009. In order to do that, I cannot repeat the same old things I do continually each day. I must be productively active toward my goals in order for me to arrive in a progressive accomplished place in 2010.

My evaluation at the end of the year 2008 - I did make progress.
My evaluation at the beginning of this year - I must dedicate myself to keep going in the "forward" direction for spiritual, mental and physical health, wellbeing and fulfillment.

You must hear the "silent" sounds. You must see the "invisible" signs. They are all around us. What is a silent sound? The things "not" said, the acknowledgements "not" made, the calls "not" sent. The silence of the attitude of no appreciation is deafening.

What are the invisible signs? The things "not" done, left up to you to do alone or they won't get done. These are the signs we must hear and see in order to cut them off.

Why don't we cut them off? Because we know if we don't do them, things won't get done. But is it our purpose and our responsibility to be doing these things that others should be doing for themselves? It's time to leave things undone. This is the only way that others will develop responsibility for themselves and their own lives.

Does he/she want something done that they are capable of doing for themselves but they are lazy and filled with excuses? Does he/she want something done that is none of our business or part of our lives?  Does he/she want something that is going to add more labor upon our shoulders instead of their own? If we pick it up and add it onto our already full schedules, we will continue to drain ourselves of our own strength.

The more we keep picking up the responsibilities of others, the more we allow ourselves to be pulled into their "next" project. The more we deafen ourselves to the already silent sounds and signs of warning, the more we are wasting yet another year of our own lives.

The Amplified Bible in the book of Ephesians chapter 5 verses 14 through 17 is written as is below:

Awake O sleeper and arise from the dead and Christ shall shine (made day dawn) upon you and give you light. Look carefully how you walk! Live purposefully and worthily and accurately, not as the unwise and witless, but as wise (sensible, intelligent people). Making the very most of your time (buying up each opportunity) because the days are evil. Therefore do not be vague and thoughtless and foolish (with your own life) but understanding and firmly grasping what the will of the Lord is (for you).

To be vague is to be lacking clearness of one’s own life purpose.
To be thoughtless is not giving attention to your own life’s responsibilities.
To be foolish is to be weak-minded into being manipulated into taking on others
responsibility and having your time robbed from you.

By doing so you will suffer the loss of each God given opportunity coming your way to
provide the fulfillment of your 2009 portions ordained for your life. You will miss your
opportunities by not being available when your opportunity arrives because you are
distracted by doing something that someone else should be doing.

Happy New Year.
I hope to see you crossing the border of 2009 counting down the old year and rejoicing in the arrival of the year 2010. Will you be there or will you still be standing on the borderline of 2008?
